An academic conversation on professional writing:
The METU Academic Writing Center is proud to announce that there will be an online talk titled "We write professionally, then are we professional writers?" by our invited speaker, Bedrettin Yazan from the University of Texas at San Antonio, USA, on Friday, May 27 at 16.00-17.00.
Bedrettin Yazan is an associate professor in the Department of Bicultural-Bilingual Studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio. His research focuses on language teacher learning and identity, collaboration between ESL and content teachers, language policy and planning, and world Englishes. Methodologically he is interested in critical autoethnography, narrative inquiry, and qualitative case study.
In this webinar, participants will listen to and interact with an academic writer who will share his experience of writing and editing for publication and working with graduate students in their collaborative or solo writing projects. As the presenter brings his own experience to the webinar, he is also very much interested in participants' experience and questions, for which there will be time in particular.
Please be reminded that this free online event is open to all METU students and faculty members, and the registration is limited to 300 participants.
