The METU Academic Writing Center is proud to announce another international webinar titled "Bridging the gap between the graduate thesis and the publishable research article" by our invited speaker, Assist. Prof. Dr. Elvan Eda Işık, on Friday, December 23 at 18.00-19.00 (Ankara Time). Please find attached the poster of the event.

Elvan Eda Işık is an assistant professor at the Department of Foreign Language Education at Middle East Technical University (METU). She received her PhD from METU and she was a visiting scholar at the Universities of Cambridge and Birmingham. Her research interests are discourse analysis in academic writing and corpus linguistics. Her research articles were published in international journals such as English for Specific Purposes and Journal of English for Academic Purposes and she has co-edited the book (with Kenny, N. & Jiang, H.) English for Specific Purposes Instruction and Research: Current Practices, Challenges and Innovations, (2020, Palgrave Macmillan).

In this webinar the participants will listen to and interact with a scholar whose research is in the field of English for Publication Purposes. The presenter will share tips and strategies for writing successful research articles as well as recommendations for those who would like to convert their theses into publishable research articles. Time will also be allocated for discussion and questions at the end of the session.
